Back to 2020

Just find this photo on my old device. It take me back to 2020. The photo is my ThinkPadx250 laptop running ArchLabs(Arch linux) distro.

Now ArchLabs is closed. My ThinkPadx250 was broken. But this figure still in my heart.

Frist photo: On the top is polybar, and the window manager is bspwm. The cool wallpaper is provided by archlabs. Those are amazing tools.

Second photo: neofecth, cmus music player, clock, htop and cli-visualizer.

Here, if you have times, I strongly recommand you to try linux desktop on hand especially when you are programmer. Cus Linux desktop those are highly customizable. It can help you practic your programming skills. Like you need to calm down when you facing a lot error, find the config files basically every tools have own configurate languages and format, find the document from manual or online, combine different tools together, etc, etc…

Now Im using from scratch build arch linux in my home desktop(learn from youtube video haha) with i3 window manager. If the monitor is over than 24 inch, I think i3 will be the better option than dynamic window manager like bspwm.

So if you ask what is the motivation to use linux own? It just fun and cool!
